“I like talking to people. I find it makes them smile, and I like to imagine that whenever they think of our conversation later on in the day, it makes them smile again. And no one ever smiles at each other in London. So it makes me happy. That I’ve passed on a smile.”
Two strangers, one bus stop and a desire to connect.
Leila, 22, a high spirited young woman who embraces the present yet is struggling with the future. Martin, 26, a young businessman with a secure future, struggling with his present emotional inarticulacy. A warm and spirited two-hander that explores the strife of gender expectation in a 21st century London and the impact it has on our stability, whether outward or inward. Poignantly, how connection can prompt a certain kind of consciousness… if only we were more open to it?
